We spotted this yard after a friend told us he saw it—now it was super overgrown, front and back. So we pulled over, knocked on the door… but no one answered. And right as we were about to leave, the city code enforcement officer pulled up. Crazy timing. Turns out, he had given the homeowner a citation about a month ago and was just following up. He talked to her on the phone and that’s when we found out—her mom had just passed away, she and her brother were completely overwhelmed. The yard had gotten away from them, and they didn’t have the money to get it cleaned up. He was the nicest code enforcement officer I've ever met and really cares about people. As we got to work, we ran into a few amazing fans of the channel—including a sweet woman who works across the street who told us even more of the story behind this place. This cleanup ended up meaning a lot—not just because of the transformation, but because we got to send photos to the officer who shared them with the homeowner and we got her response!
