I’m building a full pull-out kitchen at the back of my Transit Connect micro camper — complete with running water, a gas hob, storage, and proper worktop space. In this first part of the series, I modify the van itself to make space for the unit, bolt the bed through the chassis, and build the main carcass using heavy-duty drawer slides. It’s all measured to the millimetre, and yes — I had to take a saw to the bed. If you’re thinking about adding a pull-out kitchen to your van build, this series is for you. 🔖 Chapters 🔖 0:00 Intro 0:47 Disconnecting the electrics 1:03 Removing the front of the pull out bed frame 13:48 Bolting the bed frame through the chassis 23:55 Cutting the plywood panels for the kitchen 24:31 Gluing the kitchen drawer 33:14 Dry fitting the kitchen drawer 35:17 Attaching the heavy duty drawer slides 44:11 Trimming the drawer to fit under the bed 46:10 Attaching the worktop 46:45 Cutting an opening for the sink in the worktop 49:25 Outro 🔔 Subscribe for van conversion videos → https://bit.ly/3DHtWve 🚐 More van builds → • Transit Connect Van Build – Complete Campe... 🛠 Watch the full “The Renovation” playlist → • The Renovation 🔧 Maintain your vehicle → • Vehicle Maintenance About me: I’m Matt—diagnosed with autism in 2020—I use my unique perspective to spot clever shortcuts and share practical DIY tips, from van conversions to full house renovations.
