This video introduces the background, technical challenges, and results of an advanced FRP automation project, combining KADO’s composite molding expertise with IEC’s equipment and system integration capabilities, along with insights from engineers on the factory floor. Due to the complex characteristics of fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP), manufacturing processes such as spray-up and cutting have traditionally depended on the experience and intuition of skilled operators. In this project, KADO and IEC partnered with Kawasaki Heavy Industries’ Robotics Division to tackle the challenge of automating these critical processes in jet ski manufacturing. By designing robotic systems tailored to real on-site conditions, the team achieved an innovative solution that delivers both high reproducibility and mass-production capability.
