Hi everyone! 🍎 As a crochet lover, I’m always looking for ways to turn creative ideas into practical accessories. Today, I’m showing you how to recreate this viral Apple Peel Bow. It’s the perfect "useful" project—it looks amazing as a hair clip, but you can also use it as a charm to decorate your favorite bag! 🎒✨ [Materials Needed] • Hook: 2.0 mm Yarn : 4 ply yarn in Red and Champagne (or Light Yellow) • Extras: Alligator hair clip or lobster clasp, fabric glue or hot glue, tapestry needle 📝 Pattern Instructions I. The Main Bow Loop (Red) Worked in joined rounds. 1. Foundation: Ch 56. Join to the first ch with a sl st to form a ring. (Ensure the chain isn't twisted). 2. R1: Ch 2 (counts as first dc). Dc in each ch around. Sl st to join. (56 sts) 3. R2: Ch 1. Sc in each st around. Sl st to join. (56 sts) 4. R3: Ch 2. Dc in each st around. Sl st to join. (56 sts) 5. R4: Ch 1. Sc in each st around. Sl st to join. (56 sts) 6. R5 – R8: Repeat R1 and R2 alternately. Fasten off and weave in ends. II. The Apple Peels (Make 2) Make 1 in Red and 1 in Champagne. This piece creates the "curly" effect. 1. R1: Ch 86. 2. R2: Starting in 3rd ch from hook: [1 hdc, 1 hdc-inc] across. (126 sts) 3. R3 – R6: Hdc in each st across. (126 sts) Fasten off. The piece should naturally start to spiral. III. Center Binding Strap (Red) 1. Foundation: Ch 20. 2. Row 1: Starting in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across. Fasten off, leaving a long tail (approx. 8 inches) for sewing. 🛠 Assembly & Styling 1. Laminate the Peels: Place the Red peel on top of the Champagne peel. Apply a thin line of glue along one long edge only. This creates a "double-sided" look while allowing the two layers to slide against each other slightly, which keeps the curl "bouncy." 2. Form the Bow: Pinch the center of the Red Loop (Part I) to create pleats. 3. Attach Peels: Fold the joined peels in half or drape them so they hang from the center of the pinched bow. 4. Secure: Wrap the Binding Strap around the center of the bow and the peels. Sew the ends of the strap together tightly at the back. 5. Finish: Glue or sew your hair clip/bag charm hardware to the back of the strap.
