Engineers are actually pretty ridiculous. They have certain known recipes but their carpentry/masonry bonuses + 1 Electrical is actually a massive understatement, in fact if the DIY Expert had +1 Electrical instead it would probably make it OP. This being said, i had focused on getting my mechanical up so I could hotwire. The idea is straightforward with Engineer runs. In B42 what you want to do is actually find buildings that arent prelooted/looted ahead of time but this is complicated by a need to put a base somewhere. I have a sort-of solution to this i'm gonna try out. The burglar run was ended sadly because the animal cart overturned. My idea is pretty straightforward. I will effectively move bases and stockpile resources. My first base is, unceremoniously, the riverside gas station. The plan is that i have to pretty much wait until either July 22nd(ish) or, if the power goes down on the 14th day (July 23rd). So optimally you want to stockpile freezers. It actually does depend on what you're aiming for. If youre planning on characters without slow metabolism you can sometimes just skip this step, or just fill the freezers with proteins early on and just call it a day because eggs can fill the need and you really only need two chickens for that. If you don't use slow metabolism, in any real playthrough you will absolutely need cows for butter/milk because of calories. You have to stockpile them imo. Its also essential for Animal Care. The strategy here is pretty basic, it was in the Burglar run, but you just establish a base optimally where theres a lot of food and fuel. From there find animals and raise those. I think basing near water with animals is super key, considering high fishing + butter is all you'd need, plus freezers. Potatos help too, cabbages are great, carrot for bait etc. Thats for your december + timing.
