I got my hands on a compact brushed motor Ryobi ONE+ battery router model PCL424 for some future drawer and cabinet work. I'm not ready for those jobs since I'm still building walls and doors for the basement finishing so I tried out the router on some door framing work. It is more powerful than I expected and is rated to take a 1 3/8 inch (35mm) bit if you limit the cutting depth per pass to 1/8 inch (3 mm). I tried it with a 1 1/4 mortising bit and and Ogee bit. It is not made to cut dovetails or be used in a table as those tend to be big cuts beyond compact power limits. There is very fine depth control and I like the dust port shield that is included to reduce debris.
