Independent Presidential candidate Catherine Connolly has said the electorate have a clear choice to elect an independent minded person, who will "reflect the core values of our people, who will be a voice for peace in a very volatile world". Asked if she would speak out or "toe the line" if elected President, Ms Connolly said she has had many different roles over the years, including working as a barrister and a teacher and always demonstrated that she acted with fairness and professionalism. Speaking on RTÉ's Six One News, she said she would bring that experience to bear if elected.
