This is a model of the PLM (Paris–Lyon–Méditerranée) Type 231 (Pacific) steam locomotive. The model was specially manufactured by the Japanese company Aster for the Swiss company Fulgurex in 1977. Unlike most Aster models, this model is powered by an electric motor rather than a steam engine. The locomotive features PLM's signature twin domes and diagonal funnels.
