Point Designs creates robust prosthetic fingers for people with near metacarpophalangeal (MCP) level amputation. The Point Digit is a mechanical, passive articulating finger designed to be both lightweight and strong. Our prosthetic finger products use a novel ratcheting mechanism and linkage bars to lock into 11 unique positions. The Point Digit is designed for patients with finger amputation who require a robust device and the ability for one-handed operation and various levels of flexion. The prosthesis is made of titanium and stainless steel, and comes with all necessary hardware for integration into a prosthetic socket. Our prosthetic fingers come in polished or gunmetal finishes. Our 3D printed prosthetic fingers are made from semi-hollow titanium using a direct metal laser sintering process. This is a modern approach driven by a team of industry experts who stay on the cutting edge of technological innovation. We take pride in being a small business, and we work hard to be the best at what we do. Our team maintains a close relationship with world-renowned academic researchers and clinical teams as we continually advance our prosthetic finger designs. The main features the Point Digit 3D printed prosthetic fingers are: 11 locking levels of flexion Patent pending mechanism enabling unilateral operation with auto spring back 150 lb (68 kg) load capacity 1.1 oz - 1.3 oz (30 g - 36 g) in weight depending on length The only prosthetic finger with anatomical rotation about the patient’s metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joint 6 standard lengths (80, 85, 90, 95, 100, and 105 mm, measured from MCP joint center to fingertip) Integrated compliant fingertip pads that are touch screen compatible and field replaceable Fast delivery (2-3 days in most cases) To operate our artificial fingers, the user positions the Point Digit into one of the 11 locking levels of flexion by pushing the dorsal side of the finger against an opposing surface (e.g., table, thigh, etc.). The device locks into place automatically enabling the individual to perform their desired task. There are two methods to extend the digit; 1) by pressing the button on the dorsal side of the finger, or 2) by fully flexing the finger to engage the auto spring back feature (single-handed use). We also offer a mounting kit that aligns fingers relative to each other for multiple (up to 4) finger systems. The fingers are ideal for people with near MCP level amputation. Slightly distal (especially if the residual digit range of motion is minimal) and proximal partial hand patients are also good candidates. We see the best outcome when the patient has an intact thumb for opposition. If you would like to learn more, please visit our website! https://pointdesignsllc.com/
