The large retrospective exhibition “ETERNAL”, dedicated to the centenary of the birth of the great Yugoslav architect Bogdan Bogdanović (1922, Belgrade – 2010, Vienna), after a series of guest appearances throughout the region, continues its journey at the Mostar Cultural Center, from May 9 to June 3 of this year. Since Mostar is home to one of the most significant works by this architect—the Partisan Memorial Cemetery—a special monographic section within the exhibition is devoted to this memorial. During the exhibition, expert-guided tours, discussions on the culture of remembrance, as well as creative and educational workshops for children and youth will be organized. Visitors will have the opportunity to become acquainted with Bogdanović’s complete body of work, and through a special virtual projection they will be guided through the Partisan Memorial Cemetery—seen both from the ground and from the air. As part of the monographic exhibition segment on the Partisan Memorial Cemetery, visitors will, for the first time, be able to see original drawings preserved in Belgrade and Vienna, which shed light on the process of developing the project idea, as well as photographs documenting the construction process. The exhibition will be ceremonially closed with a major round-table discussion on the topic of the re-evaluation of Bogdanović’s oeuvre in Bosnia and Herzegovina, particularly in Mostar, as well as the renewed consideration of the significance of the Partisan Memorial Cemetery within national, regional, and global frameworks of cultural heritage. The patron of the entire program is the Western Balkans Fund and Digital Printing Center Belgrade.
