I'm sharing one of my large FOUNDATION "Underpinning" project, also called "Basement floor lowering" or "Basement excavation", "Basement dig out" or "dig down". Underpinning is the proper name to use. Our building footprint is 66 x 38, the part we "Underpinned" is 46' x 38'. Shale rock is the base under this property, i.e. soil type, i.e. easy to break rock. The "Underpinning" part shown in this video took almost 3 months to complete and since I did a lot of research for my own project I shared my knowledge and experience for you to benefit. We used "Flush OVERPOUR" method to minimize the loss of space, i.e. we follow exact line of existing foundation to extend it downward, then cut-off "overpour" chunks. The remaining tasks of radiant heat concrete flooring, grinding concrete floors, epoxy application, building basement walk out, framing and drywall are shown in other videos.
