In this video, we will discuss the following points in detail 🟡 Boundaries and Surfaces of the Axilla 🟡 Axillary Artery 🟡 Brachial Plexus 🟡 Lymph Nodes of the Axilla ▬ 📃 Upper Limb: Axilla ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ The axillary anatomy can be better understood if you consider it to be a three-dimensional pyramidal structure. 🟠 The axilla has an apex or the superior surface that allows passage of the axillary artery and vein, as well as the branches of the brachial plexus. 🟠 The anterior surface is made of axillary folds and pectoralis major muscles 🟠 At the posterior surface, we have the scapula and three muscles. 🟠 The medial surface comprises ribs, Intercostal muscles, and part of the serratus anterior. 🟠 The lateral surface of the axilla is made up of coracobrachialis and biceps brachii muscles 🟠 The base or the inferior surface is mainly made up of skin and forms an inlet for the contents of the axilla. ▬ 📜 Axillary Artery ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ The axillary artery is the continuation of the subclavian artery. That passes from the neck into the axilla. 🟢 It is divided into three parts by the pectoralis minor muscles. 🟢 The relations of the axillary artery As the artery is divided into three parts the relations of the artery change throughout its course.
