December 9, 1980: In this AEI Public Policy Forum from 1980, the participants discuss their priorities for public policy, focusing on the economy, on defense, on accountability of public officials, and on the balance of powers between the executive and the legislative branches of government. They give high priority to increasing productivity, to increasing investment, and to developing technology as ways to control inflation. The panelists evaluate American foreign policy as well as the current international position of the United States and propose some alternative policies for the future. In 1980, transcripts were available by mail for a small fee. Today, they're available to you for free at this link: https://goo.gl/6Ywkup Panelists: Dick Cheney – Representative (R-Wyoming) Wyche Fowler, Jr. – Representative (D-Georgia) Dick Gephardt –Representative (D-Missouri) Newt Gingrich – Representative (R-Georgia) Moderator: John Charles Daly Subscribe to AEI's YouTube Channel https://www.youtube.com/user/AEIVideo...
