The Little Train of Caipira - Music Video of the Reference Groups

The little train of the caipira (Bachianas Brasileiras II), Heitor Villa-Lobos - Casa Ricordi SRL. Since 2010, the guris, which in Portuguese means a boy or girl, who are in more advanced learning stages have had the opportunity to be a member of one of the project's 12 Reference Groups distributed across the state. These groups are orchestras, cameratas, bands, choirs, big bands, percussion groups and other musical ensembles that serve as a model and incentive to all students participating in the project. The Reference groups perform with celebrated musicians on some of the most important stages in Brazil's musical world. The RGs are located in the cities of ARAÇATUBA, BAURU, FRANCA, ITABERÁ, JUNDIAÍ, LORENA, OURINHOS, PRESIDENTE PRUDENTE, SANTOS, SÃO CARLOS, SÃO JOSÉ DO RIO PRETO and SOROCABA. The groups, some of which focus more on popular music and others more on classical compositions, practice at the centers of the Guri Project twice a week and also feature participation by students from nearby cities in each region where the RGs are established. To further the students' technical skills, the centers also offer classes to one or two individuals, instrument loans and participation in special projects and events with guest artists.
