In this video I go over some of the invaluable lessons from what I learned in 33 years of weight lifting without drugs. There isn't much out there about aging and weight lifting from a truly drug free perspective and I am fortunate to be in a place where I can share my experiences as a natural athlete. It's my hope that what I have learned about weight training and aging can help you realize just how much you can achieve by simply being consistent. And that getting older doesn't necessarily mean a tremendous decline nor does it necessitate a real change in how you train. Consistency with your strength training can't happen if you're injured and I go over what I have seen to be the biggest factor in injury prevention. Which is keeping your training volume low. Most blame their advancing years as the cause of their weight training related injuries, but I don't believe this to be the case. As I see it as more a matter of overuse from too high a training volume over time. I might be 48 but it's certainly not just about strength training for seniors, as the natural training principles I outline and my experiences are equally relevant to anyone in their teens just starting out or anyone who has been involved in a program of resistance training for years on end. Thanks as always for watching and Excelsior!
