[Video Description] A man with short hair, glasses, and a shaved beard is standing in a kitchen. He is wearing a dark blue hoodie. [ASL Video Transcript] Hello Deaf community — I’m back! My name is Roger, and I have exciting updates for you. GVAD has been quiet. Why? Technology problems. The website was delayed, and emails were down. GVAD didn’t ignore you — we simply couldn’t access our emails. We worked hard — sweat and effort — to resolve everything. Now all is fixed! Thank you for waiting and for your patience. Important reminder: Memberships ended August 31, 2025. Time to renew or sign up again. Members from 2024–2025 will receive an email about renewing, but if you prefer, you can go directly to the website: www.gvad.ca. New membership runs September 2025 to August 2026. Why join? Because membership keeps GVAD strong. It supports our community, our events, and our advocacy. Members receive: • Discounts for events • Bimonthly newsletter with updates • Right to vote at the Annual General Meeting • Your own login on the GVAD website • First to know important news Also, our next newsletter was originally scheduled for September 15. But, we decided to push it to September 30. This gives members more time to renew or sign up before the newsletter goes out. And… big news! Our brand-new website is now launched! Clear, easy, and full of information. Go explore at www.gvad.ca. Also — IDSL Week is coming up! GVAD has hand flags available. Want one? They are $10 each. Show your pride and wave it during the celebration. Have questions? Contact us at [email protected]. Join now. Be part of GVAD’s future. Together, we can build a stronger Deaf community.
