Celebrating the completion of CRL's Ōtāhuhu Station improvements

As well as building a world-class underground railway in the heart of Auckland City, City Rail Link (CRL) is also delivering improvements to the wider rail network, such those here at Ōtāhuhu. Ōtāhuhu works are known as CRL's C8 contact. C8 included the construction a third platform at Ōtāhuhu Station, a new gated entrance to the new platform at ground level, a new pedestrian overbridge between the platforms, 1.3km of new track and four new rail cross-overs. New overhead line and signal equipment were also installed between Ōtāhuhu Station and Portage Road. This was delivered in partnership with KiwiRail, Libbet Ltd and Auckland Transport. Ōtāhuhu’s upgrade is an important part of the project. Works will support more frequent train services once the CRL is completed, and they will help to create a more reliable and resilient rail service.
