This video is on how to frag Zoanthids and Palythoas. Zoas and palys are some of the prettiest corals in the hobby and come in a very wide array of colors. They range from very cheap to insanely expensive for just 1 tiny polyp, so fragging them is a great way to share with fellow reefers and recover some costs. I am going to show you 2 different ways to frag them: 1 - Bone Cutters 2 - Razor Blade Tools needed: Bone Cutters Tweezers Razor / Scalpel Gloves Safety Glasses Frag Plugs / Disc Containers Bone Cutters - The Easy Way Allows you to keep a portion of the rock underneath in order to easily glue to a frag plug or rock scape. Razor Peel Off - The Hard Way Zoa and Paly grow in a mat type structure which means if you can get between the mat and the rock or disc they are on, you can peel them off. This is a lot easier on a smooth surface like a disc or plug than it is on a rock. The Frags As soon as they are cut they are put in a container with tank water. Then glued to the plug or disc and put back in the container with tank water to start curing the glue. Lastly, showed after pics on frag rack while they were healing up and a couple days later glued to my rock scape. #fishtalk #reef #fish #coral #coralreef #reeftank #aquarium #aquariumfish #fishtank #saltwater #youtube #SaltyPops
