A talk that discusses how an understanding of psychological theories and research can help build better relationships with those around us. I’m Seerat Bagga, a senior at the International School of Hyderabad, where I study Psychology, Biology, and English at a higher level in the IB. While my passion is psychology, I could never love anything more than I love bubble tea. My younger brother might come close, though. I also have an undying curiosity for most things under the sun, so no interest is too random. However, my long-standing fascination has been the way our surroundings impact us as people, whether that be in the way we behave, think, or learn. My talk will discuss the social cognitive theory in personal relationships, and the many ways it changes us as people. The intriguing part? It occurs mostly through observation. I can’t wait to talk to you about how we, as teenagers and young adults, can create change in those around us simply through starting it ourselves. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
