Will the Russia-Ukraine war end in 2025? | Nearly three years into Russia’s war in Ukraine, the conflict and consequent sanctions have significantly impacted the world. The world is divided between countries supporting Ukraine and those who have opted to stay neutral. With war fatigue settling in and the new Republican President Donald Trump promising to end the conflict, it has led to discussions on what the likely endgame is in Ukraine. Even with the growing support for a negotiated settlement, there are fears that the conflict may not end because Russia’s concerns about a new security architecture in Europe may not be fully addressed. Further, it remains unlikely that Trump will accept a deal that affects US interests in Europe. What are the aims and objectives of the actors in the conflict? What are the metrics for lasting peace in Ukraine? How is US policy expected to shape up in Europe?
