Sharks of South Africa with Karmagawa

Back in 2019, I had the opportunity to embark on a trip to South Africa with the charity community group, Kanagawa. The goal was to learn more about the endemic sharks of South Africa, their more popular large shark species, and the ongoing research and work being done by NGOs like the South African Shark Conservancy. We were also able to dive and film some of the more popular Mako and Blue Sharks out in the pelagic zone of South Africa with the awesome crew at Shark Explorers. For this project, a generous donation was made to shark charities to help support important shark research and conservation efforts. I hope that through this video, others will learn more about these sharks, how they live, why they’re so important, and what we need to do to protect them.
