Cake is a cute little robot with mapping and path-tracking capabilities. It has magnetic encoders and an IMU on board, which help it calculate and track its path. Cake has an ESP32 microcontroller, which connects to wifi. We can control the cake using a phone app over wifi. Cake connects to a processing program running on a PC, where we can visualise its path. Cake can also do waypoint navigation. Where the user just clicks on the screen to give waypoints, and the robot follows them. A full tutorial has been made on YouTube and the website. We are not using ROS :) This is the first part of this project, where I have shown how the robot works and the required electronic components. In the next part, we will assemble and run the robot. DM or WhatsApp me if you require 3D printed parts or PCB electronics for this project; I might be able to help. Tutorial and Files https://benchrobotics.com/esp-32/esp3...
