Nick Mayhugh discusses his career as a member of the US Men's National Paralympic soccer team, and his work to raise awareness for individuals with Cerebral Palsy other “invisible disabilities”. An invisible disability is a physical, mental or neurological condition that is not visible from the outside, yet can limit or challenge a person’s movements, senses, or activities. Unfortunately, the very fact that these symptoms are invisible can lead to misunderstandings, false perceptions, and judgments. Nick Mayhugh is a 3x Gold Medalist, 1x Silver Medalist, 100m World & American Record Holder and 200m World & American Record Holder. He is a dual Team USA Athlete - midfielder for the United States Para 7-a-side National Team andsprinter for the US Para Track & Field National Team. He is also a public speaker. Nick has a mild form of Cerebral Palsy and is always looking for ways to share his story in hopes of inspiring and motivating young people to believe in themselves and their capabilities, no matter the circumstance. His determination, resiliency, and perseverance proved that he was not going to let Cerebral Palsy prevent him from chasing his dreams and doing what he has done his entire life - proving people wrong with a ball at his feet.
