RPSI 85 'Merlin' on the ''Sea Breeze'' & ''The Strand'' tours to Rosslare - 26/05/2019

On Sunday the 26th of May 2019, The Railway Preservation Society of Ireland ran their ''Sea Breeze'' tour from Dublin Connolly - Wexford and their ''Strand'' tour from Wexford - Rosslare Strand. The locomotive in charge was V Class steam loco number 85 'Merlin', This is only 85's second visit to the Rosslare line having made it's first visit in August 2018. 0:00 - 1:29, To start the day off we head to Drumcondra Station where we see 071 class loco number 073 in the old retro livery passing with the Inchicore - Connolly empty Craven stock. 1:29 - 4:05, Now with 85 'Merlin' in charge of the train we see the ''Sea Breeze'' tour passing through Killiney as it makes it's way to Wexford. 4:05 - 5:00, Next we move to The Murragh in Wicklow town where we again see 85 passing with the ''Sea Breeze'' 5:00 - 5:37, We then decided to pull in at the M11 motorway bridge outside Arklow at On Sunday the 26th of May 2019, The Railway Preservation Society of Ireland ran their ''Sea Breeze'' tour from Dublin Connolly - Wexford and their ''Strand'' tour from Wexford - Rosslare Strand. Wexford. 6:24 - 7:04, We then head to Enniscorthy, he was supposed to stop there however having taken on water at Gorey the train just went straight through. 7:17 - 7:51, Next we head to Ferrycarrig just outside Wexford town. 7:51 - 8:36, Having taken on new passengers at Wexford Station, 85 'Merlin' continues South with ''The Strand'' tour to Rosslare Strand seen here passing South Sloblands just outside Wexford town, sorry about the wobbling of the camera in the shot, the wind was very strong there and kept moving the camera even though it was secured on a tripod. 8:36 - 11:03, Having emptied in Rosslare Strand, the train runs empty to Rosslare Europort seen here passing Mauritiustown Road, Rosslare Strand, Co. Wexford. 11:03 - 16:40, Now in Rosslare Europort, 85 'Merlin' begins it's run round and is turned on the very rarely used turntable before departing back to Rosslare Strand, sorry about the departure shot going out of focus at the end of the departure clip, the camcorder had a few focusing issues. 16:40 - 19:29, Now back on ''The Strand'' 85 slowly makes it's way down Wexford Quay towards Wexford Station. 19:29 - 20:12, Now back operating the ''Sea Breeze'' 85 makes it's way back to Dublin Connolly seen here passing Ferrycarrig, Co. Wexford. 20:12 - 20:56, Next we see 85 passing Ballydermot, Gorey, Co. Wexford 20:56 - 21:58, Next we head to the former station of Newcastle, Co. Wicklow 21:58 - 22:45, Next we head to Seapoint Avenue where we see 85 passing as it's journey comes to an end. 22:45 - 23:48, Now retro 073 takes the empty Craven stock back to Inchicore seen here passing Claude Road in Drumcondra.
