Shiv Sena has started a signature campaign against Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut for her recent controversial remarks terming India’s independence in 1947 as ‘bheek’ (alms). Led by senior party leader and Member of Parliament Arvind Sawant, the signature campaign was started outside Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai. Sena leader Arvind Sawant attacked the BJP for distancing themselves from the controversy, saying, “This is what BJP does all the time. Wash their hands off as per convenience. And how can they shirk responsibility? It is this government that recommended her for the Padma award. Even in the past, the BJP was behind Kangana so what’s happened now?
