This video is a short excerpt from a critical and politically charged dialogue on the motion: (full Video - • Mahua Moitra VS Sai Deepak | The Most Vola... ) (--watch the full video if you can) “Hinduism needs protection from Hindutva.” Speakers FOR the motion Mahua Moitra Mani Shankar Aiyer Ashutosh Ruchika Sharma Speakers AGAINST the motion Swapan Das Gupta Sudhanshu Trivedi Agnimitra Paul J Sai Deepak The debate reflects the deep ideological polarisation of our times. However, the most striking moment comes at the end, when Mridula Mukherjee offers a critical intervention. She points out that both the Left and the Right fail to meaningfully engage with Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose—his vision of nationalism, secularism, and ethical politics. This intervention should be read as an alarm: An alarm to the Left, which often abandons nationalism altogether An alarm to the Right, which risks reducing nationalism to majoritarianism Netaji’s vision—plural, ethical, and rooted in shared sacrifice—does not fit neatly into either camp. And that is precisely why it matters today.
