The gameplay involves the four members of the hero gang, The Cobras, fighting enemies to rescue a kidnapped member, Kate. The game uses 'punch' and 'kick' buttons and allows the use of various weapons, with the score based on opponents eliminated. The plot centers around The Cobras' attempt to save their fellow gang member Kate from the "Dead End" gang, who control Dead End City. Vendetta was censored in some countries to remove certain enemy characters.
