‘Faith in Action’ delves into the story of how everyday people making change met Pope Leo XIV. Join us in reflecting on the powerful legacy and renewal of Roman Catholic organising in the UK, through the lens of the campaign for a real Living Wage. On Wednesday 25th June 2025, a delegation of Catholic schools from Citizens UK was welcomed at the Vatican by His Holiness Pope Leo XIV during the General Audience. By organising with their schools, the young people have been involved in winning local changes for their communities, such as commitments from major businesses to pay the Living Wage; winning thousands of pounds in reduced transport fares; preventing the deportation of vulnerable families at risk, and helping to secure over half a million pounds in mental health support for students in schools. Meeting the Pope is a significant moment for these young people and Citizens UK’s mission to organise for justice, dignity, and the common good. It is Faith in Action.
