Here at the Wick, we are grateful to have a tight-knit team of talented, driven individuals whose passion and dedication to their work shine every day. Ally Richardson is no exception. She has gone above and beyond in her 8 years with us, most currently as our Reservations Manager. We were delighted to recognize her incredible leadership and contagious positivity with the Leader of the Year award for 2023. Ally's passion for hospitality blossoms from her ongoing love for travel and exploration. From backpacking solo through Central America to venturing to remote corners of Vancouver Island, she finds joy in discovering hidden gems and embracing the life experiences and growth that travel inspires. Our Reservations team is often the first point of contact for our guests, and Ally cherishes this opportunity to create meaningful connections as they plan their special trip to experience Tofino’s unique magic. At the heart of Ally’s dedication is a deep love for the place and the people here and a gratitude for being able to share it with our guests. “I appreciate that we live, breathe, and work in a destination that is someone's dream vacation, someone’s bucket list trip,” Ally shares, “We are a part of so many intimate moments, from proposals to weddings, honeymoons, babymoons, and birthdays.” Happiest by the beach or among the towering old-growth trees, outside of the Inn, you’ll likely find her exploring with her two sweet rescue dogs and a backroads map book in hand, choosing an off-the-beaten path or new area to visit. “I love the feeling of hiking and reaching a mountain top, setting up camp after an 8-or-so-hour hike, or walking down a forested path,” Ally shares, “I love to disconnect and enjoy the simplicity of things.”
