More About "Blake Buried a Body": Blake has always been told he’d turn out just like his murderous father. But when his younger brother kills an innocent kayaker, Blake makes a split-second decision—he helps him hide the body. As the day unfolds, the weight of what he’s done becomes unbearable. With paranoia caving in, Blake is forced to confront the terrifying question: is he fated to become the man everyone says he will be? Director's Statement: Creating Blake Buried a Body as my thesis film at Valencia College allowed me to explore diverse visual styles and themes, particularly unwarranted blame, guilt, and their power to transform someone into a monster. At its core, the film examines how these destructive emotions are passed down, shaping individuals in profound ways. My goal was to craft a gritty yet whimsical short that seamlessly blends surreal horror with a compelling drama, one that follows a brother’s journey to find his place in the world while forging a deeper bond with his younger sibling.
