DAY 1 - SESSION 1 - CALLED BEFORE WE ARRIVED & SABOTEURS OF CALLING In this session, Pastor Muriithi Wanjau affirms to Christians that God loves them and they are called and appointed to serve God. However, though many are called, many Christians often sabotage their calling. This session covers; CALLED BEFORE WE ARRIVED 1. God designed your calling. You were placed not misplaced. Five distinct movements • I was KNOWN • I was FORMED • I was CALLED • I was APPOINTED • I was PLACED Jeremiah 1:25 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I [ordained you a prophet to the nations.” Pst. Muriithi Wanjau SABOTEURS OF CALLING Though many are called, Christians often sabotage their calling! This session also identifies the following saboteurs of our calling. 1. Comfort and Security – We often desire a church that fixes our issues. 2. Career Success and Status – Is Christianity a side hassle activity? Your career should support your calling so don’t allow your career to sabotage your calling. 3. Cultural Approval – We often trade our calling for status. Never let status and cultural approval to sabotage your calling. 4. Entertainment and distraction – Many Christians are not rebellious, they are just distracted from their purpose and calling. 5. Control & Self Direction – Many of us want God’s help but we want to do it on our terms. Without surrender we will never fulfil our purpose. 6. Putting blessings before calling. The blessing of God can sabotage our calling. We sometimes elevate the blessing rather than the blesser. Don’t become a blessing chaser become a God chaser. 7. Calling requires response. God's calling requires your response. If you miss out on your calling, God will find someone else. Do not settle for less than your calling. Pastor Muriithi Wanjau
