And, for clarity, the Earth is round, not flat. Lol! Finally swapped out my plain factory handguard to the flat Earth handguard I had ordered quite a while back. Glad I did so for three reasons: 1) Discovered my barrel nut was barely more than hand tight. It's stunning I got the groups I did in the related video (dime and nickel sized groups). The new handguard came with it's own barrel nut as usual, and I made sure to torque it on to 70 ft lbs. Anxious to try my grouping now! 2) Simple asthetics. Looks pretty darn nice! 3) Now my Quick release sling attachments will work. the barrel is heavy profile and the old handguard was too tight.
