After getting hammered with ads for the "4D gaming environmental simulator" that is the Whirlwind FX Vortx, we figured it was time to buy and review the strange peripheral. Sponsor: TEAM Delta MAX RGB SSD (https://geni.us/m5v2OQ on Amazon) The Whirlwind Vortx isn't new, but we hadn't heard of it until just recently. The company seems to be running an aggressive ads campaign with Google, YouTube, and Facebook, and we decided to spend the $80 (on sale!) to buy the Vortx. The device claims to be the "world's first environmental simulator" for PC, and also calls itself a "4D" gaming device. Its goal is to increase immersion by blasting the player with another layer of input, and that's basically wind and/or heat. A lot of heat. In this review, we take apart the Vortx, test it for noise levels and thermals, and test it in actual gaming. We have a new GN store: https://store.gamersnexus.net/ Like our content?
