Shot in peak monsoon, this video features the passage of the Sampark Kranti through the heart of north India over #Haryana , western #UttarPradesh , a part of #Rajasthan and of course a major part of #MadhyaPradesh . Led by a WAP-7 from #Lallaguda numbered #30250, we cover the 695 kms from Delhi to Bhopal in this installment. Starting off on a bright and humid day from the national capital, we encounter a flurry of crossings en route #Agra via #Mathura . The scenes start to change post Agra and by the time we have reached #Dholpur , the sky is overcast and a storm is brewing in the distance. The view of the infamous ravines of the #Chambal valley under the overcast sky is one to savor. This gives way to some heavy rainfall after we have crossed Gwalior with a glimpse of its majestic fort atop a hill. The section from #Gwalior to #Jhansi is particularly special for two things :- the #omega loop and the #Datia pass. In the former, we take some sharp curves resembling a horse-shoe and similar to the Greek alphabet omega. As for the Datia pass, we cut the DOWN track to Gwalior twice as we pass through another series of sharp curves resembling an inverted-S. In between all of these, we keep crossing numerous trains at high speeds. Jhansi happens to our first halt after 403 kms of journey; one of the prime reasons why this train is better than most others in this route. Another sharp spell of rainfall grips us after Jhansi but we move on, undeterred. #Bina, another major junction, is skipped smoothly as we embark upon the last 140 kms of the journey to Bhopal. We also a fair share of crossings all this while. At #Vidisha , we happen to meet Ansh Pateriya, a railfan from Bhopal, who waves at us from the Patalkot Express. Our run also happens to give us a glimpse of the famous #Sanchi "stupa" atop the hill and cut the #TropicOfCancer at #Salamatpur. Its 7:20 pm by the time we reach #Bhopal at the end of an eventful and fascinating journey. The video, however, continues for a short while till #Itarsi which we happen to reach around 9:30 pm. Part TWO shall begin henceforth.
