Letoon was the religious center of Lycia in Antiquity. The temples of Leto, Apollo and Artemis in this sanctuary are very important historically. Ancient City of Xanthos (Xanthus): Xanthos Ancient City, Xanthos is one of the most important cities of the ancient Lycian civilization, which was considered an administrative and religious center. According to old records, it was founded in the 8th century. The ruins of the city and its sad history attract many tourists. Xanthos had a nation of warriors. The city was besieged by Persia. Husbands talked to their wives when they realized they couldn't win. The women and children chose to die rather than surrender. After the invasion of the Persians, the inhabitants killed all the women and children. They then burned the city down and committed suicide by throwing themselves into the flames. There were no survivors in this town except for 80 families who were out of town. After the tragedy, the city was rebuilt, but after 100 years, the fire hit the city again. The people of Xanthos, who had a warlike descent, rebuilt the city, which long existed as an important center Ölüdeniz (literally Dead Sea, due to its calm waters even during storms; official translation name Blue Lagoon) is a small neighborhood and seaside resort in Fethiye District of Muğla Province on the turquoise coast of southwestern Turkey, at the juncture of the Aegean and Mediterranean Seas. It is 14 km south of Fethiye, near Mount Babadağ. It has a sandy bay at the mouth of Ölüdeniz, on a blue lagoon.[1] The beach itself is a pebble beach. The lagoon is a national wildlife sanctuary and construction is strictly prohibited.[2] Oludeniz's seawater is famous for its turquoise and aquamarine tones, while its beach has been officially awarded the Blue Flag.
