(DISCLAIMER: VIDEO BY @510trackside, NEITHER THE VIDEO NOR THE IMAGES ARE MINE.) [Watch In High Definition] BNSF's Needles Subdivision is located on the eastern-most leg of the California Transcon between Barstow, Ca and Needles, Ca. This is the always busy double-tracked mainline from Ports of Long Beach (Los Angeles) and Chicago, Illinois. In addition, you get trains going to and from San Barnardino Intermodal Facility, along with trains from the Bay Area that join the transcon in Barstow. The most vital network for domestic and overseas intermodal container trains, along with unit trains and manifest freights. On a good day, you can see upwards of 70-80 trains on this "steel highway" in a 24-hour period. I tend to focus on the Z Train & Stack Trains on straight sections of track where these massive and heavy trains do every bit of the 70-MPH posted speed limit. It's addicting and quite a rush to experience. Just you, your camera, and the desert. Nobody else. Enjoy the 15 freight trains filmed out here in this video. As a bonus, we'll take a look at Amtrak's Southwest Chief, which was running several hours late one day on this trip, requiring the assistance of a BNSF locomotive to get them to Los Angeles. We chased the train between Cadiz, Ca and Pisgah, Ca. Locations in this video: Cadiz, Ca Pisgah, Ca Newberry Springs, Ca Amboy, Ca Bagdad, Ca Siberia, Ca East Daggett, Ca Thanks For Watching! ©510trackside 2020
