#jamuary2023 video number 13. A Sunday #synthjam, built around a chord sequence that’s being fed into the #korgvolca FM via Midi. I wrote everything on the iPad, looped the sequence then fed it into a probability gate to thin things out and add some variation to the loops. There’s an arp sequence within the keys that I bring in and out using the cut off. Both the keys and FM run into the Eventide H9 which is set to spacetime mode adding reverb and delay. The reverb setting is low. The bass has a three sequences programmed into each VCO. I play with the slide to bring the notes in and out with the cut off. The modular has an LFO from function table 2 affecting the fold and mod knobs. The carrier oscillator is patched into LPG2 but and triggered by the positive output of function table 1. The result is very quiet but it’s there. There are then three sequences chained. The sample has a simple beat with the low cut way down to give more of a low-fi sound. The drum has a lot of probability triggers. Mainly a sliced kick which is one layer kick sound, one layer brush-like snare. There are then some distorted clap sounds and one patch that is half disco tom, half bass sine. The drum and sample were recorded separately and had some compression added in logic. Everything else has some EQ settings then a bit of delay and some reverb to tie everything together.
