This cultural wave clashed with the Jewish faith and traditions, giving rise to the Maccabean Revolt — a rebellion against forced Hellenization. On the 25th of Kislev (around November–December), the Jews reclaimed Jerusalem (Yeroshalem) and the Second Temple, an event now celebrated globally as Hanukkah. Later, in 63 B.C., General Pompey of the Roman Empire captured Jerusalem, bringing Palestine under Roman rule. It was during this Roman era that Prophet Jesus (Hazrat Eisa A.S.) was born — a descendant of the Tribe of Judah. His message stood against the corruption of religious elites, preaching purity, faith, and justice. However, while his followers (Hawariyun) spread his message, some altered his teachings for personal gain — giving birth to Christianity (Eisaaiyat), just as Buddhism emerged from Hinduism through Siddhartha Gautama. The Jewish scholars (Ullema), threatened by his growing influence, plotted his crucifixion — though Islam teaches that Allah saved him. Decades later, in 70 C.E., Roman General Titus besieged Jerusalem, destroyed the Second Temple (Haikal-e-Sulaimani Doum), exiled the Jews, and renamed the land Syria Palestina — erasing the Jewish identity from its ancestral homeland.
