In the process of change – the transition experiences of the Silesian coal region – Zabrze, post-industrial tourism The film was prepared as part of the project "Sharing knowledge about the transformation process of coal regions - study visits to Polish mining regions of Ukrainian stakeholders", implemented by the Institute for Ecology of Industrial Areas (IETU) as part of the Platform for Supporting the Transformation of Coal Regions in the Western Balkans and Ukraine in cooperation with the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, the World Bank and the European Commission. Under the slogan "In the process of change - experiences of the transformation of the Silesian coal region" IETU has prepared four films that present important aspects of the transformation process of degraded and post-industrial areas, such as long-term planning, ensuring financing from multiple sources, cooperation of many institutions and units, preservation of objects of historical value and protection of industrial and cultural heritage, as well as scientific research of post-mining waste landfills, chemically contaminated land and soils or landscapes degraded.
