CHAPTERS: 0:00 – Time Slice ! 0:08 – Drum loop and synth with FX Track3: Drum loop with Delay FX, and Pitch Shifting. End Of Loop Pulse sent from drum loop to pulse an envelope in ENVY Machine. The envelope is patched to amplitude mod on ALGO. ALGO output is patched into Track 2, with Delay and Pitch Shift effects applied 01:07 – Ambient Piano treatment Track 1 Jazz piano loop. Tracks 2,3, & 4 are resampling from Track 1, and are set to Live Loop mode. Each track has random trigger from ENVY Machine, for resampling input from paino loop on Track 1. 01:58 – Live Keyboard loop recording, with drum loop and granular scanning trumpet solo ! Track 1: Using DAW loop style to record VECTOR WAVE keyboard sounds, then Track 2: using RETRO loop style to record bass line also from VECTOR WAVE. Drum break loaded from internal storage, Decimate FX applied. Flute sample sliced, slowed down, Wave Folded, and sliced-scanning modulated by knob recording on ENVY Machine. 03:21 – Trumpet loop manipulation and Pitch Shift harmonies Track 1: A 12 bar Trumpet sample loop, output sent to input of Track 2,3,& 4. Track 3: Live-Loop sampling triggered from ENVY Machine random voltage source. Track 2: Pitch Shift -1 octave. Track 1: Loop length changed to ¼ bar for much shorter looping of small portion of sample. Track 4: Pitch Shift -3 semitones, Track 3: Pitch shift -5 semitones. Track 1: Adjustments of slice number of trumpet sample loop portion. 04:13 – Drum Loop resampling and manipulation Track1: Drum loop feeding into live-loop sampling on Track 2. Track 2: Random triggers for Live-Loop sampling from ENVY Machine random voltage source. Also Loop Length modulated by ENVY Machine. Drum Loop is stopped, and Start Point is modulated by ENVY Machine random voltage to scrub through the audio. 04:57 – Recording objects sounds to create an array of different sounds on individual slices Track 1: Recording a metal sound into a loop, and trimming the start point. Played back slowly later. Track 2: Recording a comb into a loop. Played back slowly later on. Track 3: Recording various object sounds, each one on a separate slices. In playback the sample slices are selected at random by a random voltage from ENVY MACHINE. Whole project is slowed down, to sound nicer ! 06:25 – Wot no drum machine ! Looping sounds from the Music Thing Modular MIKROPHONIE to make an amateur drum beat Track 1: Using RETRO loop style tor create a 4/4 bass drum thump Track 2,3 & 4, adding some other percussion elements to the mix ! 07:00 – Using the Music Thing Modular 8MU MIDI controller Track 1: Drum loop, feeding the input of Track 3 which is set up with a Delay FX. 8MU using MIDI CC to toggle record ( Delay FX Send ) and Delay time, Delay feedback, and Delay filter FX. Track 4: 1-Shot Loop voice samples recorded to separate slices. 8MU triggering playback with MIDI Note messages, and selecting sample slice with MIDI CC Slider. Track 2: Pr-recorded ALGO freakout loop, sliced into 16th bar slices, 8MU MIDI CC used to scan through the loop slices. 08:20 – Random drummer and bassoon solo Track 1: Various cymbal samples on individual slices. ENVY machine used to select the sample slices randomly. Track 2: 1-Shot Acoustic dum samples on individual slices. ENVY machine used to select the sample slices randomly, and trigger the samples from ENVY Machine LFO with knob recorded speed changes. Track 3: Flute sample loop, slowed down with Wave Fold added to create some dirt and Pitch Shift used to add a perfect 4th harmony. 09:57 – Chords, M185 as a drum machine, and a sloppy music loop Track 1: 1-Shot drum samples, triggered and slice selected by M185 Sequencer Gate and CV output, Track 2: VECTOR WAVE keyboard loop Track 3/4: Stereo sloppy music riff looped, and filtered. Pitch Shift is used on Tracks 1, and 3/4 to shift the key change down and up again. The stage Gate patterns and Cvs on the M185 are adjusted to alter the drum pattern and also selection of drum samples 11:09 – Steve Reich tribute ! Tracks 1,2,3 & 4 all have the same sample loop loaded, but the loop length on each is adjusted so each following rack is a few milliseconds shorter than the last, creating slowly evolving phase shift between the spoken sentences. Finally the master tempo is slowed right down, with Pitch Lock enabled creating a time stretch on the spoken voices. Many thanks to our beta testers !
