This Might Be The Best Amp Mod Ever

In this video we have vintage amplifier expert Philbillie (Phil Milner) modify my 1968 Fender Super Reverb amplifier to Howard Dumble specs. Philbillie has spent extensive time working on Dumble amplifiers and knows what is going on “under the hood” of these incredible tone machines and was kind enough to lend a hand with my amp. I already loved how it sounded but couldn't believe how great it sounded AFTER the modification - be sure to tell us what you think in the comments below! Guitarist, singer, producer and engineer Phillip “Philbillie” Milner has been in the Bay Area music scene for the better part of 35 years. A stint in the US Navy earned him an AS degree in Electronics Engineering. With this training he became one of the premier repair techs in SF and the surrounding area, running the repair department at Haight Ashbury Music for several years as well as his own shop Electronic Audio Repair Service (E.A.R.S.) In his capacity as a guitar and amp tech, he’s done his time “on the bus” and in the studio with the likes of Bob Weir & Ratdog, Bonnie Raitt, Tracy Chapman, Wilco, Graham Nash, Eric McFadden, Sonic Youth, and most recently as tech for Joe Satriani on the Satch/Vai 2024 tour.
