Shires Bb trumpet was developed through a close collaboration with trumpet legend Doc Severinsen and the craftsman at S.E. Shires. An obvious choice for jazz and commercial players, it is also appreciated by classical and orchestral musicians for it’s gorgeous tone, lightning quick response and beefy low register. The S.E. SHIRES Doc Severinsen Destino III Bb Trumpet has a one-piece custom tapered “Doc” bell which features a traditional side seam and french bead wire. The bell combines power with a lush sound and is constructed from a medium weight German brass with Destino III engraving in a traditional floral pattern. The custom Doc Severinsen lead pipe provides an efficient and flexible blow right down the center as well as an incredible clarity to the front of the articulation. The yellow brass semi-round tuning slide has a single brace which combines power with stability and responsiveness in all dynamics and registers. This instrument incorporates a narrower brace between the bell and the leadpipe which contributes to the Destino’s response and ease of attack. Nickel balusters and valve bottom caps contribute to the character and sound of the instrument, while metal valve guides in the pistons add immediacy and clarity to the front end of the note. The S.E. SHIRES Doc Severinsen Destino III Bb Trumpet is available in a lacquer or silver finish and includes S.E. Shires premium carrying case and mouthpiece.
