She is joined by her college roommate Lori, who is also reliving the same day over and over again. Together, they must figure out why they are stuck in this time loop and how to break it. Along the way, they are pursued by a masked killer who is determined to kill Tree. They also have to deal with the fact that their actions in the time loop are affecting the real world. In the end, Tree and Lori are able to break the time loop and save the day. However, they learn that there is a bigger mystery at play. Happy Death Day 2U is a sequel to the 2017 film Happy Death Day.
