This week we remove the Laycock de Normanville A-Type Overdrive unit from the Triumph TR4 gearbox housing to investigate the seal between. We find plenty of evidence of leaks. Most notably we find a warped adapter plate. Can it be fixed? We have been putting this project off for a while: fixing a leaking transmission seal. In the next few episodes, we will be going though the entire process of removing the gearbox from the Triumph TR4, investigating what went wrong, and fixing the problem for good.
