Named after Revolutionary War hero General Casimir Pulaski, this 3.5-mile-long structure was designed to alleviate traffic congestion and facilitate industrial growth in the burgeoning port cities. Constructed during the Great Depression, the Skyway featured innovative engineering with its cantilever truss design and was celebrated as a marvel of modern infrastructure.
