Transforming Our Hallway into a Galaxy-Themed Masterpiece | Fiber Optic Ceiling, Glow-in-the-Dark Moon Hatch & More Hey friends! In today’s video, I’m sharing how I turned our boring, plain hallway into a stunning galaxy-inspired space with color-changing can lights, a fiber optic star ceiling, and a glow-in-the-dark moon hatch leading to the attic. This has been a dream project of mine for a while, and I’m thrilled with how it turned out! Step-by-Step Galaxy Hallway Makeover Fiber Optic Star Ceiling: Cut two panels from 1/8” birch plywood sourced from Ganahl Lumber to fit the hallway ceiling. Painted the panels white and drilled 600 holes (300 per panel) for the fiber optic LED lights. Installed and wired the lights to create a sparkling night sky effect. Lighting Upgrades: Added a new 6-inch can light to brighten up the end of the hallway. Replaced the old can light with a color-changing RGB thin can light controlled via my phone. The results are incredible—each color brings a unique vibe to the space. Moon Hatch to the Attic: Swapped the square attic entrance for a round hatch. Designed and CNC-cut a thin moon cutout using my Onefinity CNC. Coated the moon in TotalBoat MakerPoxy mixed with grey and glow-in-the-dark pigments from Black Diamond Pigments, creating a mesmerizing effect that shines day and night. Final Touches: Used Ultra White Behr Paint and Rustoleum White Spray Paint for a clean, bright aesthetic. During the day, the hallway looks sleek and unique, but at night, it transforms into a magical galaxy that has quickly become my favorite spot in the house.
