Cyclone Montha: Army, NDRF On High Alert As Twin Cyclonic Systems Develop, To Landfall In 24 Hours Indian Army has been placed on high alert as two developing cyclonic systems are expected to intensify into cyclone 'Montha' within next 48 hours. Army said the situation is being closely monitored I'm coordination with NDMA and respective state governments. Both cyclonic systems are currently under observation by IMD. Cyclone Montha is expected to make landfall on Andhra Pradesh coast near Kakinada, between Machilipatnam and Kalingapatnam on Tuesday evening or night, October 28. Heavy rain alert has been issued for Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Puducherry for next few days. Wind speeds are expected to reach 90-100 kmph, gusting to 110 kmph.
