Reintroducing Water Voles to the River Beane at the Woodhall Estate

Water Voles have been reintroduced to the River Beane after an absence of over 20 years. On Friday 22nd July, Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust, in collaboration with the Woodhall Estate with support from the River Beane Restoration Association reintroduced Water Voles to a stretch of the River Beane near Watton-at-Stone. This project is funded by the Government's Green Recovery Challenge Fund. The fund was developed by Defra and its Arm's-Length Bodies and is being delivered by The National Lottery Heritage Fund in partnership with Natural England, the Environment Agency and Forestry Commission.
