Triad High School. Troy, Illinois. April 6, 1995. In "Time And Time Again", young composer Vic Ames is unexpectedly thrown into the 1950s, a time period that baffles him. Out of place in a world of bobby socks, sock hops, and a rigid social structure, Vic is quickly labeled both odd and strange by his peers. As he struggles to find his footing, he meets Electra, a self-proclaimed “eccentric” who becomes his guide in this chaotic new world. Together, they discover that the key to fixing Vic’s predicament lies in uniting his estranged parents, who are locked in a cycle of unspoken differences rooted in their past. Vic’s father, whom Vic believes to be a conservative, straight-laced man, holds a secret : in his youth, he was a beatnik, defying the norms of the time. As Vic and Electra uncover more of his father’s rebellious past, they work to reconcile the man he once was with the father he has become. In their quest to reunite Vic’s parents, the duo finds themselves disrupting the school, the town, and the very fabric of time itself, creating ripple effects that challenge everything Vic thought he knew about the world. The musical builds its tension as the antics of Vic and Electra attract the attention of Marlon Van Brut and his Wild Ones motorcycle gang, who threaten to derail their plans. At the same time, the students and faculty are thrown into disarray by the unexpected changes that ripple through the social landscape. The energy of rebellion and youthful defiance spreads quickly, and the quiet, conservative world of the 1950s begins to shake under the weight of Vic’s presence and his quest to make everything right. What follows is a lively and heartfelt exploration of identity, generational conflict, and the ways in which the past shapes the future. Through catchy and infectious songs like "Listen To The Beat", "Catch My Dust", "Sweet Sixteen Turned Sour" and "Ponytails", the musical captures the essence of the 1950s while exploring timeless themes that still resonate with modern audiences. These songs bring the characters’ emotions to life and underscore the energetic, humorous, and touching moments throughout. After years of re-edits and revisions, our high school musical has held up after all of these years, and has now been fully realized in its final version, now available to watch online on YouTube. This production, born from countless hours of dedication, offers a timeless blend of comedy, music, and heart, showcasing how the past and present can collide in unexpected and transformative ways. For audiences both new and familiar with the show, the final product is a nostalgic yet fresh take on a story, now brought to the world for all to enjoy. I truly thank each and every one who has dedicated both their time and passion into this project. Sincerely, Jason Sutherland ( AKA Jasun Daniels ) XOXO. Sha-koo!
