Do you ever feel like giving up? Overwhelmed? Sick and tired of everything? Do you ever wonder if anything you do makes a difference or feel like there's no point in trying? I know it might be overplayed, but I love this song. The whole thing is pretty impactful but the part that really gets me is the second verse. I think we can all relate to losing friends and chasing sleep and even if people don't seem worried about us we know they should be given everything going on and that can be overwhelming and disappointing when we realize we have to hold things together on our own. (Or they are worried about you and then that makes you feel more pressured into seeming "okay") I've had so many days when I wish I could just throw all my responsibilities and burdens out the window and curl up on a chair like Marinette and either harden my heart or burst into tears because it's all too much to handle. It's one thing to carry on when you have tons of people cheering for you or can see the definite results of your progress, but usually life doesn't work like that, and you have to make the choice to keep going on your own, even if nobody else sees or even believes you can do it. If you're in that spot right now (like I was yesterday) here's a song for you! Keep fighting! You're going to make it! 💜 You may feel like you're just a tiny boat in the middle of the ocean, you may feel like you've burned through all your strength and resources until you only have one match left, one tiny hope, but all it takes is a spark to set something wonderful and powerful into motion. Don't give up. Your life is not over. Do you have a bunch of voices screaming at you from inside your head? Do you have a swarm of doubts and fears that are trying to push you under, hold you back? Defeat them! Now's the time. Why wait? Why let them control you when you have so much more to give? You're not your dark thoughts, your past, your pain, it doesn't matter how many times you've failed or what anyone has said - you are a one-of-a-kind, irreplaceable, incomparable, unique and wonderful person who deserves to be heard, loved, and valued. Don't let those evil negative voices pull you down and try to convince you to be something you're not. Shout back at them! Keep telling yourself the truth until you learn to believe it. You can do this. Pain will lessen. Things will be okay. But it does hurt. It hurts so much sometimes. When we feel the most alone, the most overwhelmed, the most hurt and afraid, it takes a lot of courage to remind yourself that it will be okay. It helps sometimes to take a step back and remember everything you've been through before, look to where you're going, what you hope for, and be reminded of all you have (even if it's just the tiny spark of life still beating within you) and prove to yourself that you will be alright. This is your fight, your challenge, your battle, but you WILL win, and come out all the stronger because of it. "I'm too weak." Well starting right now you're not! Weakness is a mindset - one that we all are easily persuaded of, and find difficult to lose, but it can be overcome. You are stronger than you know, and the more you give yourself a chance to try, to grow, to believe, the more you will discover and prove to yourself just how strong you are. But unfortunately power isn't something that comes as easily as saying "Spots on" or "claws out". No matter how determined you are to succeed, to push through, to overcome, there will always come a moment when your strength runs out, when you're stretched too thin, and you need someone to come alongside you and lift you up. I loved how the main theme in the movie was how two are stronger than one, as in most movies of late (particularly for girls) we're told to be independent, unshakeable, take charge and not look to anyone else, but no one can do that forever which only sets you up to feel like a constant failure. It is good to reach out for help, to find comfort in others and support them back, but no one can be there for you all the time, even if they want to be. So what then? God says in the Bible to "cast all your cares on him, for he cares for you." (1 Peter 5:7) God is the most powerful being in the universe but most importantly he loves you, and wants to stick by your side, giving you the strength and peace you need to fight any battle and conquer any fear. How awesome is that? "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved." Jesus died on the cross and came back to life - proving he has power over death. If you accept him into your life you have access to that same power and it can be turned on whenever you need it. His love has carried me through every storm, and whenever I feel like giving in one word from him makes my heart open and I have reason to fight again. I don't know what you're going through, but I want you to know that you are loved, you are strong, and you can keep fighting no matter what anybody says.💞
